KSD Custom Wood Products is a team of experts utilizing technology to produce the best product in the industry. Experienced artisans are employed to ensure that the job is done right – that a joint is cut accurately, that a sash is sized and square for a perfect fit, that appropriate wood species and grades are used.
It takes an expert to create a perfect product and KSD Custom Wood Products has plenty of experts. Our experts use computer aided design and in-house profile template cutting combined with the SCM 1000 CNC tenoning machine. KSD combines the best in technology with the best in craftsmanship for streamlined production of incomparable doors and windows.

KSD has on the floor various planers, shapers, joiners, band-saws, single and double head belt finish sanders, and all the necessary hand tools that our skilled artisans use daily. We even have a high quality 6-head molder with digital display and heavy horse power for single pass, deep-cut moldings.
Shop fabrication is made easier by the implementation of AutoCAD for all projects. AutoCAD has become an industry standard and offers compatability solutions when communicating with architects and general contractors. The non-proprietary nature of the AutoCAD has proven to be a benefit to KSD and our partners. Full scale drawings are generated for craftsmen to follow, minimizing human error. Also, profile drawings are exported to the template maker for extremely accurate knife profiles.
In addition, to tooling equipment KSD has invested heavily in safety. All available equipment safety features are implemented, including electric brakes., safety hoods, etc. We also have invested $200,000 in an unmatched dust collection system. Made by Torit®, this system utilizes external hooper units in a closed loop system and boasts of 99.9% dust free air filtration. It includes GreCon® abort dampers which detect any sparks inside the system and turn on sprinklers within the pipes. There are two full systems within our KSD facility.
The SCM Concept 1000 tenoner is truly a state-of-the-art machine. Made in Italy, it is the finest most dependable and most accurate machine of its kind available anywhere in the world. KSD Custom Wood Productshas made a heavy investment in this machine for two simple reasons. It not only increases production, but it does so with a staggering degree of accuracy. KSD will never compromise quality for speed and this machine passes their requirements. The Concept 1000 gives KSD unparalleled flexibility to perform many different functions with immeasureable production increase. This machine finishes multiple cuts in seconds while the same cuts would otherwise take hours with two or more machines and time consuming profile knife changes. It is a CNC, fully automated machine, driven by a user programmable computer. Accuracy is maintained within .002 in. even after a tool change. Keeping consistent with concerns for safety, KSD also purchased the optional safety and sound deadening hood for the Concept 1000.

The precision’s of KSD’s template cutter allows us to more accurately match existing cope and profile sets. Our approach can accept a file or generate it from the CAD department or we can generate a new one from a scanned picture of a profile.
